General Info

Tucked along Central Avenue, Urban Hotdog Company is the kind of spot that feels instantly approachable the moment you step inside. As a hot dog restaurant, it leans into comfort food while keeping the overall experience relaxed and welcoming. The location is easy to find near the heart of Albuquerque, making it a convenient stop whether you're exploring nearby neighborhoods or simply craving a quick but satisfying bite.

What stands out right away is how easygoing the atmosphere feels. The diner-style setup encourages you to settle in, scan the menu, and take your time deciding. During my visit, I noticed a steady flow of locals stopping in for dine-in meals, which always says a lot about a place. People seemed comfortable lingering over their food, chatting, and enjoying the casual energy of the restaurant.

Of course, the menu centers around hot dogs, but the experience goes beyond just grabbing something quick. Urban Hotdog Company clearly aims to create a place where guests can relax, enjoy good food, and maybe even treat themselves to something unexpected. One standout item that caught my attention was the Urban Espresso Martini. It’s a surprisingly smooth highlight on the drink selection, adding a slightly sophisticated twist to the otherwise laid-back hot dog diner vibe. The drink balances bold espresso flavor with a smooth finish, making it a fun pairing if you're settling in for happy hour food with friends.

Speaking of happy hour, the restaurant offers a nice range of bites designed for sharing or snacking. The vibe during these hours feels lively but still comfortable, the kind of environment where conversation flows easily. If you’re the type who likes to end a meal on a sweet note, dessert is also available, which rounds out the menu nicely without overcomplicating things.

Another thing that deserves mention is the welcoming environment. Urban Hotdog Company openly identifies as LGBTQ+ friendly, and the inclusive energy is noticeable. Guests from all walks of life seem to feel comfortable here, which adds to the sense that this place is more than just a quick food stop-it’s part of the local dining community.

Practical details are simple and convenient too. The restaurant accepts credit cards, making the ordering process smooth, especially during busy times. For visitors checking out different food spots across the city, this Central Avenue location is easy to add to a casual dining itinerary.

Browsing through reviews before visiting, I noticed many people highlight the relaxed vibe and approachable menu. After spending some time there myself, that impression makes sense. Urban Hotdog Company delivers exactly what a neighborhood diner should: a comfortable setting, straightforward food, and a few standout touches-like the Urban Espresso Martini-that make the experience memorable.

What customers say?

“ I had the pleasure of attending Urban Hotdog Company's soft opening at their new Nob Hill location. Having been a loyal customer since their first day on the Westside, I was thrilled to find that they've taken their game to the next level. The menu caters to pretty much every dietary preference, offering a plethora of options. The sides are a delight, and there is an impressive array of hotdog toppings made even better with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. What truly stands out, though, is their exceptional staff that adds to the overall wonderful dining experience. ”

“ The food is so delicious, but the price is insane. The first time I was there i didn't pay nearly as much as I did the second time. The dogs are plump and very juicy. My favorite shake is the espresso, and the fried pickles threw me off but we're some of the best I've had in awhile. ”

“ We are Loving this new restaurant! The food is phenomenal: high quality, fresh ingredients and bold flavors - delicious and so interesting! Having a full bar is a great bonus, and the Rainbow Shortcake cocktail is sublime…The service is attentive and friendly, and the place is beautiful! So far, my husband and I have tried the elote fries, elote dog, bahn mi with plant-based dog, all-beef corn dog, and the spicy rooster - all stand-out yummy! A great place for carnivores and herbivores to get together: non-meat-eating hot dog fans, rejoice! The plant based bratworst is excellent - I’m a connoisseur of these, and excellence is rare :-) - I definitely recommend it! ”

“ One of the best hot dogs I have ever had!!! The BLT and A dog was *chef’s kiss* with the perfect amount of toppings and some in every bite. My husband had the chili dog and loved it as well. The only area for improvement would be on the chicken wings- sauce was great and flavorful but the meat itself, though fully cooked, had a few bites with an unusual texture. ”

“ Ordered from DoorDash. Stop considering BWW for dinner and get this you fool! Boy howdy am I glad I was indecisive tonight and didn't pull the trigger on the other 3 carts of dinner I mulled over from other restaurants and finally decided on Urban Dog Co. I really enjoyed Senoran dogs from AZ when I visited so when I saw the quirky dogs on this menu I knew I was in for a good time. Fully Loaded dog was so delicious, the potato skins were such a nice touch and there wasn't an overwhelming amount of the sour cream, as a non-fan of s.c. Elote dog I didn't expect much out of but I knew I wanted my elote fix and my gosh it might have been better, just needed a lime on the side ;) An employee decorated my paper bag when they saw my DoorDash name and it made my night. The Zia shake wasn't as spicy as I expected IN A GOOD WAY. It's similar to a family member's homemade jam with just a pinch of cayenne/pepper you can taste but not feel! So delicious and rich but not sickly sweet. I wish I was nearer this local chain, I'd gladly gobble some glizzies to support these goobers. Much love you guys, thank you for the art, friend! ”

“ I took my German/polish Grandma here when she visited me from Pittsburgh for Christmas last winter. Her favorite food is hotdogs so I was stoked that Burque has a spot like this. She was blown away by the dogs. We had a great time. She even tried the raspberry jam and red chile milkshake. These are some of the best hot dogs in Albuquerque. It’s on the pricier side compared to the average hot dog vendor but they’re simply not the average hot dog stand. Also—I imagine rent in Nob Hill on central ain’t cheap. Go get the $8 hot dog, live a little ”

“ One of the most creative and local menus. Loved trying the shishito burger. Everything is fresh and flavors are unlike anywhere else. ”

“ These hotdogs are done great! Creative dogs that taste awesome and even with vegetarian options I noticed. Stopped by for the soft opening and the place looks awesome. My family and I all got various dogs and tried many options. All delicious. And they crush the sauce game. So many to choose from with several ways that they make French fries. I also had a cocktail and it was great. Looking forward to many great meals here. ”
