General Info

Urban Hotdog Company brings a playful Albuquerque twist to one of America’s most familiar comfort foods. Located at 3507 Central Ave NE, this locally born hot dog restaurant serves far more than a basic frank in a bun. The menu features over 20 creative combinations built around hot dogs, sausages, fries, toppings, and flavorful sauces, so there is always something different to try.

One of the biggest reasons people visit Urban Hotdog Company is the variety. Classic flavors are available, but the more adventurous choices tend to get the most attention. The Mac & Cheese dog combines a hearty hot dog with creamy macaroni and cheese for a rich, satisfying bite. Meanwhile, the Korean corn dog offers a fun mix of crisp coating, savory filling, and bold flavor. Each option feels familiar enough to be comforting while still offering a fresh idea. Guests who enjoy building a full meal can add loaded fries, sausage-based choices, or extra sauces, while lighter appetites can focus on a single specialty dog. The flexible menu works well for both quick stops and relaxed meals.

The fries are another popular part of the experience. They arrive crispy, hot, and ready to pair with a selection of dipping sauces. Guests can keep things simple or mix and match sauces to create a different flavor with every bite. Portions are filling, making the restaurant a practical stop for lunch, dinner, or a casual meal with friends.

Urban Hotdog Company has deep roots in Albuquerque. The business opened in 2012 and has grown from a mobile kitchen into a recognizable local brand with catering services and brick-and-mortar locations. Its creative approach has earned attention from The Food Network, Condé Nast Traveler, MSN, and Reader’s Digest. It has also received several local awards, including recognition for best hot dog, best fries, best food truck, and best new restaurant.

Despite the national attention, the atmosphere remains relaxed and approachable. Diners often mention the friendly staff, who help make ordering easy, especially for first-time visitors deciding between the many menu choices. The restaurant is also described as clean and well maintained, which adds to the comfortable dining experience.

Catering and mobile kitchen services make Urban Hotdog Company a useful choice for parties, office lunches, community events, and other gatherings. The broad menu allows groups to enjoy familiar favorites alongside more unusual creations. With inventive hot dogs, crisp fries, bold sauces, and a strong local identity, Urban Hotdog Company offers a casual Albuquerque dining experience that feels fun without becoming complicated.

What customers say?

“ One of the best hot dogs I have ever had!!! The BLT and A dog was *chef’s kiss* with the perfect amount of toppings and some in every bite. My husband had the chili dog and loved it as well. The only area for improvement would be on the chicken wings- sauce was great and flavorful but the meat itself, though fully cooked, had a few bites with an unusual texture. ”

“ Ordered from DoorDash. Stop considering BWW for dinner and get this you fool! Boy howdy am I glad I was indecisive tonight and didn't pull the trigger on the other 3 carts of dinner I mulled over from other restaurants and finally decided on Urban Dog Co. I really enjoyed Senoran dogs from AZ when I visited so when I saw the quirky dogs on this menu I knew I was in for a good time. Fully Loaded dog was so delicious, the potato skins were such a nice touch and there wasn't an overwhelming amount of the sour cream, as a non-fan of s.c. Elote dog I didn't expect much out of but I knew I wanted my elote fix and my gosh it might have been better, just needed a lime on the side ;) An employee decorated my paper bag when they saw my DoorDash name and it made my night. The Zia shake wasn't as spicy as I expected IN A GOOD WAY. It's similar to a family member's homemade jam with just a pinch of cayenne/pepper you can taste but not feel! So delicious and rich but not sickly sweet. I wish I was nearer this local chain, I'd gladly gobble some glizzies to support these goobers. Much love you guys, thank you for the art, friend! ”

“ I took my German/polish Grandma here when she visited me from Pittsburgh for Christmas last winter. Her favorite food is hotdogs so I was stoked that Burque has a spot like this. She was blown away by the dogs. We had a great time. She even tried the raspberry jam and red chile milkshake. These are some of the best hot dogs in Albuquerque. It’s on the pricier side compared to the average hot dog vendor but they’re simply not the average hot dog stand. Also—I imagine rent in Nob Hill on central ain’t cheap. Go get the $8 hot dog, live a little ”
